| This is a page from a tool catalog of the late 19th century which shows
the diversity of bit styles that were used in these tools. Certain bits such as the twist
bit at the bottom middle of the page are very much creatures of the industrial revolution
and were not available in the 18th century. The brace shown on the page is also more
sophisticated than either brace in our exhibit.
